Job Summary
As a Service Coordinator at Skier’s Marine in Chattanooga, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our Service Center operates with integrity, efficiency, and profitability. Working closely with the General Manager and technicians, you will deliver excellence to our customers by maintaining clear communication, accurate data, and timely service. The ideal candidate is organized, detail‐oriented, customer-focused, displays strong communication skills, and is committed to representing Skier’s Marine’s values.

Key Responsibilities
Initial Responsibilities

Customer Follow‐Up: Communicate with customers daily as needed, initiating with a warm greeting, building trust and relationships.

Parts Ordering: Ensure necessary parts are ordered promptly to support technicians and meet customer delivery expectations.

Service Boat Documentation: Photograph all service boats upon arrival in accordance with Skier’s Marine Picture Taking Best Practices; upload all images to the service team folder in Google Drive.

Quality Inspection: Inspect completed service boats (after cleaning) to ensure workmanship meets standards.

Sales Team Collaboration: Participate in weekly dealership meetings and maintain ongoing communication with the sales team to ensure boats are ready when promised.

Computer Proficiency: Navigate Windows and/or macOS systems, and type at least 55 words per minute.

Warranty Management: File warranty claims immediately when repairs are needed; ship parts back as required; ensure final payment for warranty claims from manufacturers/vendors.
Preferred Responsibilities

Coordinator Conference Call Participation: Schedule and prepare for a weekly call with other Skier’s Marine Coordinators to resolve issues and maintain company alignment.
Optional Responsibilities
- Continuing Education: Attend industry service schools, management & leadership classes, and webinars to build job and leadership skills.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Service Writer, Service Advisor, or similar administrative role (marine industry preferred, automotive/powersports acceptable).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Basic understanding of service processes, parts ordering, and warranty filing.
- Proficiency with computers and office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.).
- Ability to operate in a fast‐paced service environment and manage multiple priorities.

ABOUT SKIER'S MARINE
Our Story
Rett Tyler (Founder & President) grew up loving watersports and spending time at the lake. As a police officer, he struggled to afford a modest inboard boat. Rett became a boat sales representative to purchase a family boat. Not only was he able to share his passion for watersports with his family, but he also helped many others create their boating legacy. Rett continued as a part-time sales representative until Malibu Boats offered him the Central Alabama market in 1994.
In 1995 Skier’s Marine was established and was run out of Rett’s basement. During the first few years Skier’s Marine was open for business, Rett was still a full-time police officer selling boats in his off time. In its first year, Skier’s Marine sold six Malibu Boats. But, this was just the beginning.
By 2011, Rett’s sons had joined the family business and opened the Athens, AL dealership. Since then, Skier’s Marine has seen growth nearing 500%. As of the fall of 2021, Skier’s Marine has broken ground on the Lake Oconee dealership. Over its 29 years in business, Skier’s Marine has grown to become the premier watersports authority for central Alabama and continues to influence watersports communities around the southeast.
